Gloria Young

Gloria Dell Young moved on to her heavenly home on January 3, 2023 from Portland, Oregon. Gloria was born February 9, 1957, at Klamath Valley Hospital in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Kenneth G. Young and Betty Jane (Redfield) Young.

Gloria was the oldest of four girls. She grew up in Klamath Falls and graduated from KUHS in 1975. Shortly after graduation, Gloria married David Bryan and moved to the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon where she had two beautiful children, first Jason Bryan in 1976 and then Shauna (Bryan) Morris in 1977.

She loved Jesus, her children and grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she was able.

Growing up, Gloria enjoyed water skiing, playing the piano, 4-H, and horseback riding.

She married Charles (Chuck) Williams in 1981 and together they raised Jason and Shauna and had many adventures.

She was strong and adventurous even though increasing disability from an auto immune disease would cause her to struggle most of her adult life. She lived in many states in her life: Oregon, California, Alaska, New York, Oregon, Ohio, and then finally back to Oregon. She enjoyed interior design and remodeled each home along the way with the construction savvy Chuck provided - so she was our first and personal 'fixer upper' before the phrase was coined.

Gloria loved the snow and the mountains of Alaska because of their majesty. She cautioned people the harmless looking moose that came to visit her every evening were not harmless! Every night they would lick the salt off of her vehicle and leave their tongue prints looking like paint brush strokes on her van.

She is survived by her children, Jason (Tasha) Bryan and Shauna (Justin) Morris, mother, Betty J Young, sisters, Pam (Jim) Olliffe, Theresa Young, Patricia (Rex) Thomas and three grandchildren, Conner Morris, Byron Morris, and Carter Bryan. She is also survived by nephews, Joshua (Meghan) Young, Matthew (Michelle) Thomas, Christopher Thomas, and nieces, Jennifer (Buddy) Gollihar, Heather (Dan) Scogin, Amanda (Gary) Miller, Samantha (Dan) Oldham,Tricia Lake. She has numerouse great nieces and great nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth (George) Young.

A Celebration of Life service for Gloria will be held on February 19, 2023, beginning at 1:00 pm in the Shasta View Community Center, 5831 Shasta Way, Klamath Falls, OR 97603. Please bring your fun 'Gloria' stories to share. A light luncheon will be served after the service.
