James Olney Conrad (Jim) passed away on November 28th, 2023 at Skylakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Jim was born on September 30, 1937 in Bagnel, Missouri. He was 87 years old.
Jim is survived by his wife, Pauline, sons Dan of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Paul of Seattle, Washington and Jeff of Winchester, Virginia. Jim and Pauline were married for 66 years.
Jim had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves, and U.S. Air Force. Jim retired from a career at Boeing as an Architectural Electronic Engineer in 1995.
He and his wife moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1996 and have been members of Living Faith Fellowship Church since 2003.
Jim was an avid artist and fisherman. With art he liked painting landscapes with oils and pastels. His home and many others are decorated with his artwork. He loved fishing and enjoyed ocean surf fishing as well as lake fishing.
He loved NASCAR and cars in general. He loved his 1962 MGB, but realized he couldn’t keep that and his growing family. He chose the family over the car. He owned many different cars over the years.
He did NOT like newer technology and never wanted to use a computer or cell phone, and never did. Although he disliked computers, he did discover YouTube and enjoyed train videos and live videos from various airports around the world, particularly LAX.
His quiet demeanor and quick sense of humor are still legendary.
