Janice Muriel McClellan was born to Bess and James King on January 19, 1932 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 29, 2021. She spent her early years in Eastern Oregon and Lebanon, Oregon. In 1951 she married Stanley McClellan. While she and Stan raised 6 children in Klamath Falls and Malin, Jan developed skills as a peace maker which she continued to use whenever necessary. She could distill a complex situation or problem down to a simple statement that made the solution obvious. One friend said her true superpower was her kindness, love and acceptance that she gave to any and all. An avid reader, Jan tried her hand at writing and published a childrens’ story and a magazine article. Her artistic talent was also expressed in beautiful scenic paintings and very unique custom jewelry. She started a business, Heirloom Jewelry, selling jewelry online and through art fairs. In doing so she taught herself how to build web pages and market over the internet. She loved creating things and passing them on to others. Another hobby she enjoyed was playing bridge with the local Klamath Falls Chapter. Jan spent several years working for Weyerhaeuser and the Oregon Department of Transportation. Jan found her spiritual home with the Klamath Falls Friends Church and spent many fulfilling years with the congregation. She generously supported many causes which were dear to her heart. Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Stan, and her brother Larry King. She is survived by her brother Mike King; her 6 children: Kathy Kalles, Becky Johnson, Marty Lawrence, Jim McClellan, Mark McClellan and Laura Shivley; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and countless dear friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00pm on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Moore Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Klamath Falls Friends Church. Cascade Cremation & Burial is assisting the family. Condolences may be expressed online at www.cascadecremations.com.
