Jodi
Hill
Jun 26, 1970 — Sep 9, 2026
Jodi Shepherd Hill was born to Bob and Janice Shepherd June 26, 1970. She lived a life full of adventure, love, and resilience. She was a tiny woman with a mighty presence with not only a heart of gold but with the spirit of a lion.
Jodi began as a young spirit with an adventurous spark and that spark never dulled its shine; it had only grown brighter along with her. She had adventured down many paths in which she acquired a vast amount of skills that she held so closely to her heart.
On June 29, 1991, Jodi married Ronald J Price. Together they welcomed two children, Alex in 1993 and Bailey in 1997. Their marriage later came to an end, but Jodi's love for the two children they shared remained one of the greatest and most enduring parts of her life. Alex and Bailey were her true loves, the greatest gifts she had ever received. She looked at them as though she were watching two pieces of her own heart walking around outside of her. She treasured every memory with them and carried those memories close to her heart.
One of her greatest talents was in mothering. She was the most kindest, caring, and nurturing mother and grandmother; not only to her children but to any child. she would always have a song to sing to make them laugh and was always there for 'one more story' or 'one more game.'
She graduated from the Police Academy and spent 11 years serving in law enforcement, including at the Utah State Prison, Sanpete County, and the Sheriff's Department. She later earned her medical assistant degree before following her adventurous spirit to Nevada, where she worked as a heavy equipment operator in the gold mines. There, she met the love of her life, Wendall Bruce Hill.
Jodi and Wendall got married on April 14, 2017. They spent their days going on spontaneous adventures and their nights dancing in the moonlight. So many of their adventures were spent finding true peace on the coast or in the mountains dancing just a little closer to the stars. Together, they eventually made Oregon their home; a place they lovingly called 'paradise' where they welcomed all with loving arms and held so many memorable vacations for family and friends.
Her greatest joy, was her family. Her two children, Bailey and Alex, were her whole world, and when her grandchildren came along, everyone quickly saw that she was born to be a grandmother. She cherished every moment with them, especially campfires and s'mores, the outdoors, and their spontaneous adventures together.
She loved being outside and was rarely found indoors except for the occasional movie day surrounded by her grandchildren and family. She also loved a little excitement, whether it was smacking the buttons on the Dancing Drums and Buffalo machines or simply chasing her next lucky adventure.
Those who knew her will never forget her beautiful smile. She didn't just smile with her face; she smiled with her whole being. She saw the good in people, gave generously of her wisdom, and had a way of making those around her feel loved.
She was adventurous, witty, fiercely loving, endlessly wise, and wonderfully herself.
Her greatest legacy will not be the places she went or the jobs she held, but the love she gave to her children, grandchildren, Wendall, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Jodi is survived by her beloved husband, Wendall Hill; her children, Alex (Sierra) Price and Bailey (Garrett) Kirkendoll; her grandchildren, Azlyn, Waylon, and Mercury; her parents, Bob and Janice Shepherd; and her siblings, Scott (Darla) Shepherd and Diane Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wade Shepherd and Byron Shepherd.
She may have been small, but she lived a mighty life and she left an even bigger love behind. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
