Leah Denese Alcorn 1970 - 2025
Leah Denese Alcorn, 55, passed away September 26, 2025, at home in Klamath Falls, Oregon, after an illness. Born January 18, 1970, in Connersville, Indiana, Leah was the beloved daughter of the late Sandra Kay Alcorn and the late William Wells Alcorn, and sister of Billy Alcorn and the late Shannon (Alcorn) Greer.
Leah leaves behind her son, Diego Brown, whom she adored, and her sister, Sherrie (Alcorn) Lovely, along with extended family and friends who will also hold her memory close, especially nieces Ashley (Alcorn) Lane and Amanda Alcorn.
Leah's life was one of warmth, spirit, and strength. She graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in May 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications, a degree that reflected her curiosity and creativity. Determined and independent, Leah taught herself how to repair and maintain her own vintage vehicles, including two Volvos and a Mercedes, as well as how to restore historic homes. While she excelled at creating high-end kitchens in her renovation projects, she lived quite happily in a house with no running water in Homer, Alaska, for a time. She lived in many cities across the United States, most notably Liberty, Indiana; Bellingham, Washington; and Portland, Oregon, where she married Jonathan Brown.
She loved to cook and found joy in movement and music, whether it was biking to work, walking in the woods, or filling a room with song and dance. She rescued and cherished several dogs and cats over the years, and she lived life with energy and authenticity, treasuring even the simplest moments.
Her laughter, kindness, and passion will forever echo in the lives of those she touched. Leah will be remembered not only for her accomplishments, but for the love and light she gave so freely.
The family plans a private interment. To honor Leah's love for animals, memorials may be made to the animal welfare organization of the donor's choice.
