Margaret Darling (Green) Simpson, was born in New Pine Creek, Oregon 101 years ago, where she spent her childhood growing up with her parents, Bill and Neva Green. After proudly serving in the Coast Guard as a gunners mate during WWII. She met Ronald Simpson and they married in 1947. They had two sons, Whitney (Whit) and Kirk Simpson, and two grandchildren, Adam and Katherine.
After obtaining her bachelors degree, Margaret became a nursery school teacher for the Tiburon/Belvedere School. She also served as a volunteer for the red cross and St. Stephens Church in Belvedere. She and Ron were long time members of the Corinthian Yacht Club.
A country girl at heart, she and Ron purchased the Keller Property in New Pine Creek when it came up for sale. She would spend many summers there enjoying the beauty, peace and quiet of the ranch, with memories of her father and her cousin Nalene Taylor, spending time around the old Keller flour mill, which still stands today.
Margaret passed away peacefully on May 10th, 2024, with her son Whit and daughter in law Ruthie by her side. She was an extraordinary mother and her love and protective nature was always accompanied with a vibrant sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She felt that she celebrated her life of family and friends while here on Earth and at her request, there will be no services.
