Stanley Nichols

January 23, 1956 — May 7, 2026

Stanley was born on January 23, 1956, in Duncan to Chief Petty Officer Donald R. Nichols, USN, and Donna Mae Burns Nichols Scully. He was raised with a strong sense of loyalty, perseverance, and devotion to family - qualities that would remain evident throughout his life.

Stanley pursued his education with determination and later built a respected career in the banking industry. He was known for his steady nature, thoughtful presence, and quiet strength. Those who knew him appreciated his dependable spirit, sharp wit, and the care he showed to those around him.

In his spare time, Stanley enjoyed the simple joys of life. He loved the excitement and surprise of a scratch-off ticket, found fun in casual gambling, and especially enjoyed spending time giving back to others. Stanley generously donated and volunteered his time with local charities, always willing to help wherever he could and quietly making a difference in the lives of many.

Above all else, Stanley valued family. He shared a loving life with his wife, Miriam Nichols of Klamath Falls, and warmly embraced Jason and Craig Grey as part of his family. He also leaves behind his sons, Steven McKinley and his wife Veonne McKinley, and Eric Nichols. Stanley was a proud grandfather to Nicole Nichols, Christopher Nichols, and Joii Anderson, each of whom brought great joy to his life.

Stanley is survived by his sister, Linda and Phillip Nichols; his stepbrother, Jim and Carol Scully; and his stepsister, Sandy and Gary Auckland. He will also be lovingly remembered by Kevin Scully, who shared a close bond with Stanley and helped care for their beloved grandmother in her later years.

His memory will continue to live on through his nieces and nephews: Angela and Steve Santello, Erica Beernink, Rilee Nichols, Casslaine Beernink, Brian and Anne Auckland, David and Sarah Auckland, Steve and Crystal Auckland, Shaun Scully, and Angel Rollins, along with many extended nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepbrother, Jim Scully; and his cousin, Omer Littlefield.

Stanley will be remembered for the quiet love he carried for his family, his generous heart, the wisdom he gained through life's experiences, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a cherished part of the lives he touched.
