Sue Anne Evans (nee Halbur), a resident of Grants Pass, OR, died March 17, 2026. She was born February 16, 1950, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to George and Dagmar Halbur.
In 1968 Sue graduated from Eaton High School in Colorado and then went on to attend University of Northern Colorado, graduating in 1972 with Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She held her nursing degree for 50 years until finally retiring at the age of 72.
Sue welcomed her first born, Amy Sue, in 1975. Her second daughter, Chelsa, was welcomed in 1978. And then in 1987 she packed up her animals, her two daughters and moved to Prineville, Oregon where she raised horses (Arabians), goats, rabbits, dogs, and cats. In 1991 she again packed up all the animals and her daughters and moved to Melba, Idaho where she continued to raise Arabians and her daughters, all while continuing in her career as an Emergency Room Nurse at Mercy Medical in Nampa, West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, and St. Alphonsas in Boise.
In 1996, after both her girls had graduated, she again packed up all her beloved animals and moved back to Oregon; this time to White City and eventually settled in Applegate Valley where she worked in both Grants Pass and Medford Hospitals in the emergency departments. She retired in 2022.
Sue is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law Amy & Dan Parker, and Chelsa & Nick Davis; grandchildren Ashleigh Cronen and her husband Chase, Allison Parker, Cash Davis, Price Davis; a great grandchild, Baby Cronen, on the way; a sister Jane; nephew David; niece Lacey; and great niece Rylei.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carol, a nephew Patrick, and so many of the animals she has loved over the years.
