Aquamation

At Cascade Cremation & Burial, we provide on-site, aqua cremation services at no additional cost. Aqua cremation, or aquamation, is a gentle process that uses water instead of fire to return our bodies to Mother Nature.

The process known scientifically as alkaline hydrolysis uses a water solution and heat to reduce the body to its most basic element of calcium. The remains are then processed and returned to the family in the chosen urn, similar to flame cremation.

Aquamation is 90% more energy efficient and does not emit carbon or mercury into the air as with traditional cremation.
